Reboot Natomas.
Natomas is not living up to its full potential. It’s time to turn that around. Some areas that need improving:
- The current Board voted to increase administrative salaries and decrease staff.1
- 56% of our 7th graders scored below proficient in math. None of our 10th or 11th graders scored above proficient in basic Algebra or Geometry.2
- There is still a significant achievement gap in African American, Latino, and English learner test scores.3
Recently, the District commissioned an $80,000 report from School Services of California Inc., an education consulting firm. Among the recommendations made in the report was an increase in administration. This is not necessary. We need to reallocate the funds we have so that more money makes its way into the classroom and less gets swallowed by administrative bloat. Ryan’s goal is to give children in our district equal access to the best quality education we can provide. We need to make Natomas a place where the leaders of tomorrow can thrive.
Ryan Herche is running for Natomas school board to improve the quality of education offered to all students. He will engage teachers and parents in the decision-making process and work to increase the amount of extracurricular and vocational training programs offered to keep kids interested and involved. He believes that Natomas can achieve its goals by reallocating resources and putting children first.
